On Friday the 9th of October, the Swedish Athletic Gala took place in the former cinema Astoria in Stockholm. During the festivities Nordea, the sponsor of the Swedish Athletic Association, handed out a prize to "the child-and youth leader of the year". This year, the marketing manager of the bank, Tomas Björklund, chose to pay attention to the event DN Galan Youth which Stadionklubbarna has arranged for three years. The organisation around DN Galan has always been an active participant in the development of the main Olympic sport and we are proud to offer the young athletes a competition with many of the main gala's ingredients:

- calling and event presentation
- live-broadcasting on Internet
- VIP-village with food and sponsor activities
- World star athletes as award presentators 
- Wideo screen with replays and interviews
- Announcer, music and sound in DN Galan's style

There are many who have contributed to the success of DN Galan Youth, but two leaders who have truly pulled their weight are Silke Burestam and Fredrik Severin. It was therefore fitting that these two received the cheers of the audience at Astoria in central Stockholm. They have worked really hard to the joy of youth both Swedish and foreign.
